My wheelbase ended up at 525mm and i think this is achievable with any style bike once you get your scale correct. Its the small things that make the big difference. When i was assembling the bike i decided to make foot pegs, brass grips for the handlebars and to polish the lip on the wheels. I think these small items make a big difference to the bike.

I do thing the frame design gives the bike great structure and i do feel all round the bike is very strong. If i had my time back i would have kept the design.

The bike stand consists of a 16mm bar that was bent using the oxyacetylene welder. The bar is wedged into an 25mm bar which is welded to the frame. Two nylon fittings keep the bars together with an interference fit. The fit is tight enough for the peg to stay up when not needed. It also looks similar to an exhaust when not in use.
