A Day In The Life Of. Monday, 15 June 2015. I have been writing in one form or another for years. Since the dawn of time. I thought it was a deep and meaningful reflection on a current issue but much to my amazement they politely declined my offer. Several weeks of letter box surveillance later. my manuscript plopped back on the mat.
Various ramblings of a Brit Mum abroad. That time when we pack up our spiky suitcases, all-weather macs, and the kitchen sink; and head off to the UK for the Summer. We usually go once a year, and visit all the rellies and friends on a non-stop whirlwind tour of tea and photo albums.

Trying to keep the creative spark fanned. As a child, I never understood why adults were so dismissive of their birthdays. And then, somewhere along the way, I became an adult myself. This year is a milestone birthday for me. Instead, it is a step towards an eventual death.
That identity has collided with a world that demands faceless uniformity, efficient cogs that perpetuate the capitalist ideal. Those ideals, to be rich and successful at the top of a given industry, have never resonated with me. But in the absense of those ideals, what is left in a very shallow and consumercentric American culture? My problem is that I have asked the wrong question, approached the quandary from the wrong perspective.
