From the Ancient to the Modern A Semester in Rome

From the Ancient to the Modern A Semester in Rome. The Angels of Rome! April 8, 2015. Here is the image I mentioned above of the Ara Coelis. This large monument has two identical sculptures on its top, and can be seen from all around the city. Here is another angel figure from the Ara Coelis, likely a representation of Winged Nike or Winged Victory. This is a relief sculpture on the Arch of Constantine with a winged figure, possibly a guide or muse, or another figure of Victory. The fresco below isn82.

Michael Drummond makes Rome his home. I was in charge of making the sbrisolona cake. Sbrisolona is a typical desert originating from Mantua, in the south of Lombardia. It was typically made with flour, lard and nuts in the form of a dry, crunchy cake with no filling. The traditional recipe dates back to the 17th century and was often a sweet made by peasants.

UCEAP Rome, in my biased opinion, is the best program EAP has to offer. In no other modern, metropolitan city can you see the same level of success Rome has with the modern interacting with the ancient. Next to the Ancient Colosseum from around 80AD, there are modern Metro stations, cars, and vespas whizzing by.

I came, I saw, I wrote. Exploring, experiencing, and sharing the magnificent history of Rome. This replica statue of Marcus Aurelius on horseback is the centerpiece of Piazza del Campidoglio, where my class met for our final site visit. The original version of this bronze statue can be found inside of the Capitoline Museums in a recently improved exhibit. I love the colossal statue of Constantine in the courtyard of the Ca.

This past weekend Diana and I went to Venice for a weekend getaway. They gave us places to go to which really helped us because we had no idea what we were going to do over the weekend. All we knew was that we wanted to eat seafood and see the canals. It was soo delicious I still dream about it haha.
