Wilfredo Lam was born of Chinese and Cuban decent and raised in Cuba. In his pieces he uses polymorphism to meld aspects of humans, plants and animals to create hybrid creatures. I find this piece to be a very beautiful jar. I can imagine it somewhere in an imperial palace before the story changes to falling into european hands after the west established contact. The detail found on the painting, especially in the dragons face is quite exquisite. As I have previously thought, the idea that such a work of art, especially pottery, could exist from this period is nearly mind blowing. One of the most famous kabuki plays is called.

In the post modern art era women artist arose with a vengance. These women got tired of taking a seat behind men! The amazing art work that they projected proved it. Women are strong amazing people.

Cudjoe was born in 1971 in Takoradi, Ghana. He graduated from Ghanatta in 1996 and has been creating masterpieces since then. Cudjoe uses vibrant colors and energy in his artwork that really draws the viewer in. The piece I have selected is, The Two Fridas.
