I noticed that the web site stated " The savings banks were created in Catalonia during the XIX century and early years of XX century." They also stated " The savings banks promoted to save the money among workers. The industrial activity made rich medium cities like Sabadell, Terrassa, Mataro, Manlleu or Manresa. In these cities were born savings banks. But theses financial institutions were present also in cities like Vilafranca, Girona, Tarragona and Barcelona."
