Samba too slow on Linux. Making some comparison between Linux and Windows I noticed that in Linux it takes about a minute to access shared folders while in Windows it takes a second or two. This difference is too big to ascribe to poor performance. After some investigation I found out it is due to a network searching issue. In fact the access became as fast as windows when the ip address is used.
