January 15, 2014. What is now at the forefront of my mind is the last week and my anticipation of my departure from Uganda and return to southern California. Tuesday was my last day in Uganda and I said one last goodbye to all of the staff at the Volunteer house as Abel, my Ugandan brother, escorted me the taxi van out the gate one last time.
