The use of shutter speed. The first image I had a fast shutter speed on so I could capture the the individual crashes of water and because I wanted to make the image sharp. The second image I used a slow shutter speed as I wanted to get the opposite affect to the first image. I was trying to capture the mystique of the water flow and the almost smoke like affect it casts on top of the water.
