This book discussion we focused on theme. We each got a different journal with a vocabulary word on the front and we focused on how that word related to the theme. I agree that school aged children are less environmentally aware than older generations.

When we ran out of words to make analogies with we talked about the end of the book and how the war tied up in real life. We talked about the other analogies in the book besides just the flying whale zeppelins and talking lizard radios. Next week we will discuss the next chapters and the plot development of the chapters.
