Recently I joined some friends at The Bottom Lounge. In Chicago to catch Friendly Fires. The Fires were right on target but the band that opened for them, called The xx. They incorporate heavy bass, trippy flanged out atmospheric guitar and a drum machine to back it up. Immediately I found similarities to early Cure. I was listening to Sirius.
