Three out of four children have experienced death, divorce, separation or abandonment. Children who have suddenly lost a parent have three times the risk of clinical depression. Barr-Harris fills a necessary void in the lives of children and families who have suffered a loss. Barr-Harris provides over 2,000 hours of therapy annually for grieving Chicago-area children. In therapy, grieving children can talk about their complex feelings in a safe environment.
