Saturday, 19 July 2014. I was going to begin by saying that we never have much luck with cauliflowers but, looking back over our Blog, I see that in June 2011. We did have some success. We planted a whole bed of cauliflower this year and we have a wonderful crop. These seven have gone a long way. The chickens got the roots to peck through.
Today I went for a long walk around Miskin. This time last year I picked loads of sloes and made fabulous sloe gin with them, there were so many to be picked. This year there are none. The only one I found was all dried up and fell off the hawthorn bush as I approached to take this photo. Continuing the green tomato recipe theme. The red tomatoes from the garden! .
Pets, gardening and being a mum to primary school children. Wednesday, 8 February 2012. Although it might not feel like it right now, each day in February is a small step towards the spring. The days are getting longer. In the garden the crocuses are popping out of the snow in their golden yellow. I have some lettuce and cavelo nero in there at the moment looking in great health.

Several years ago, my mum and I raised several plants of Oenothera odorata from seed. I have stacks of photos to write up and post about from this lovely spring. The garden is overflowing with foliage and blooms, and I am trying very hard not to look at the sneak attack of couch grass which has sprung up through the borders. Diary of a hilltop garden - -.

The FW14 collection entitled BLUE NOTE is the serious, individualistic sound of the jazz world set in a burgundy velvet curtain club, which opens from a ruined street. The sound of an alternative saxophone slowly exits trough the keyhole, red wine glasses clink, a subdued tinkling giggle slowly absorbed by the overcast skies thunder. As if we were listening to a scratchy old gramophone at home.
