A girl, a blog, some crafts, and one day, a dissertation. Thursday, January 12, 2012. Tuesday, January 10, 2012. It is much easier to do academic tasks which are not writing when there is writing to be done. The jerk I work with wants to endlessly go through research files instead of actually writing, and is winning right now.
So the Christmas knitting is chugging along over here at Chez Knitalot. More reverse-stockinette than you can shake a stick at. Then I cast on for the back, star.
I have been knitting, in stolen moments here and there. Vivian is one and a half and is an absolute joy, so I spend as much free time as possible with her. My primary outlet for creative energy has been my garden.
The newly anointed le Zimbra Erqsomes. As someone whos writing a PhD about a distinctly male-dominated field, I am constantly aware of the fact that women are, if not utterly underrepresented, then certainly overlooked in the majority of mass media. I think this is why I was rather delighted to see Dorian Lynskey explain the poor representation of women in his new book.
