It made me see that not all students in your class room are going to be on the same level. In the third grade class, half of the class was reading. And the other half was reading.

Another thing I really liked about the classroom I was in was that the reading instruction time was two and a half hours long. This gave the teacher plenty of time to do small group instruction and help struggling students one on one.
