Panicking and struggling to get free will only intensify the crisis. The thing to do, I think, is to rest, and then swim gently toward the edge.

One week into recovery from open heart surgery and I am celebrating a New Year. It is a new year when I actually do get to turn 50, after all. And in just two days, I get to celebrate my twentieth wedding anniversary. The tears have been epic throughout. If you saw my previous blog post.

Iona was a very special place. One of the reasons that it is so special is because it is separated from the rest of the world. You have to take three ferries to get there and a one hour drive on two islands in between the ferries. This part of being on the island makes it a special journey and a different kind of place. As the day progressed it began to rain and not in little quantity. The wind picked up, the waves on the sea began to puff and swirl.

On my birthday, I went with my Dad to visit some Cambodian farmers. Some farmers with their tractor. This gives tractor a whole new meaning! I was at one of the CHAD sites in Kampong Speu Province, and Katherine mentioned to Pastor Hang that it was my birthday. Katherine explained that Pastor Hang and the Church we were visiting wanted to give me these coconuts for a birthday treat to share with my friends.

This blog is where you can find where we are and what we are doing. This is a good way of communication for when we are in different places like in Cambodia. I did this because I will be able to add pictures and possibly video from the iPad and not have to rely immensely on hotel computers. The Cambodia blog will remain on here.
