The assertion that people are surprisingly bad judges of what makes them happy seems quite prevalent in recent happiness literature. Well-being fanatics claiming to know better than ordinary people or politicians what is good for us is not new. Should everyone have the vote? Will not bother to do so.

My three regular readers might have noticed not a lot has changed on my blog recently. This is because my computer which has been wheezing and spluttering for quite some time has decided to die. Until I can get some money together my posts will be quite sporadic. Thursday, 10 September 2009. People talking in the morning, all conversation should be banned till at least 10am, especially jovial conversation.

Because the road to recovery also leads back to ruin. The doctor said the only thing he can suggest I do is to start taking something like Phenelzine or something stronger but I need to be monitored closely. She is going to make some phone calls and speak to some people because one session a week is not enough and I need something more intensive.
