Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Spring has arrived and most of us are looking ahead to summer. My thoughts go to gardening and then relaxing with a book in my back yard with the chickens and my flower gardens. When searching for titles I want to read I often start with award winning books. Here are some of this years winners.

Sharing my love of quilting, gardening and beekeeping. This small quilt was a long time coming for my mother in law. Years and years ago, I had bought fabric that matched her newly decorated basement and attempted a quilt that was far beyond my skill level at the time. Understandably, I got incredibly frustrated and set it aside. I love how this came out. While it is a small quilt, it fits her really well and it looks amazing in her not so newly decorated basement!
