Kizuna, new experience, growing perspective. Admittedly it had been a good run, exceeding my expectations in literally everyway; the exchange seemed perfect. The first time we met, I was unsure and s. I already have a room ready for when you come to stay,.
My favourite part of this entire experience would have to be the visit to the Ibaraki Prefectural Hokota Second High School, where we were greeted so warmly.
The last day I spent in Japan was tough. Life in Canada is so different from Japan, and I was so upset because I knew it would be a long time before I would be able to go back. I can easily say that through the Kizuna Project, I made friends and experiences that I will never forget. It has changed me as a person, and has changed my outlook on the way Canadians live their lives. They inspired me to look further into Japanese culture and the history behind it.
As a youth ambassador for the Kizuna Project at Trafalgar School for Girls, writing this blog is an opportunity to reminisce and reflect on my experiences in Japan. Enjoy! And to our friends in Japan, our translators, guides, coordinators; our homestay families and student exchange partners.
