Monday, July 23, 2007. Rayer for Peace was held on June 3oth 2007-Pososn Poya day. Veemansa Bodhi Sanga Society organized a Prayer for Peace to create space for the people of all communities to talk peace. It was held at Viharamahadevi open air theatre at dusk. The purpose of the Prayer for Peace was to prevent war and plead for peace in Sri Lanka. People are worried as violence escalates. Many gathered to pray for peace.
Monday, August 13, 2007. Commemoration Event Honours Life of Kethesh Loganathan. Ate Kethesh Loganathan was a man of action. Kethesh was a committed human rights activist. He campaigned for the rights of the Tamils within the framework of an united Sri Lanka. He cared; and was killed. Kethesh Loganathan was assassinated on August 12th 2006 in his house at night. A minute of silence was observed at the beginning to pay tribute to Late Kethesh Loganathan.
