Sunday, June 2, 2013. For the top I picked a basic twill, which works for any basic suit or uniform. The base of the top is made from Simplicity 8523. I wanted the V neck they had and the basic shape. But the shirt is meant to be loose, so I had to take it in to be more fitted. The white stitching detail was all done by hand. I used embroidery floss and a chenille needle. The sailor collar is based off of Simplicity 2072. And shortened it to the length I needed.

By day she is just a regular Graphic Designer. Though, by night, donning elaborate costumes and vibrant wigs, she prowls the evening streets, seeking to destroy evil and keep her city safe. I just like to cosplay - I am Foayasha. I just got back from Oni-con just a few hours ago. I k now I sorely need to update the page with my new cosplays, but I really need to finish my current project! Ok off to sand more stuff.

8 lens I rented for the past week has been boxed up and is ready to be shipped back. Sharp, even wide open. 8 without being locked into a prime lens is really handy during a shoot. Being able to cover the entire 120-300 range at 2. 8 is really, really handy.

Bringing more shiny to the word. I have to tell you, this seems like the Golden Age of Cosplay. I made and subsequently broke three sets of armor before finally finding a technique that suited me. Each set took dozens of hours to bring to completion, only to have it snap when I tried to attach it to the chest plate.
