When I was just a kid, I was introduced to music by my father. He loved Big Bands and Dixieland. I remember listening to Les Elgart and Tommy Dorsey on the old. He told me he had been a singer and stand up bass player for a number of bands during his years in high school and college. I thought that was pretty cool.
