Its November 23th, 2012. The end of the world prediction has not come true. Obama somehow won re-election, and Lindsey Lohan is still in rehab. I make some beef stroganoff, and sit in front of the television.
The reason I say it is fortunate is because that difference is clearly for the better.
News today is influenced by public relations firms or ad agencies. How can a station remain objective when they are given video news releases to pass off to viewers? VNRs are short clips of marketing propaganda produced in the style of real news. The releases feature paid experts that pose as fake reporters who pitch products during their packages. It is easy to blame this on the economy but lazy and dishonest journalism is never acceptable.
