For our Writing Arguments Class here at Colorado State University, we were required to choose a topic to focus on, and in groups create a blog in which we could share and expand our research on the topic. The site had the following in the homepage, "Research on the prominence of eating disorders in the dancing community." I noticed that the web site stated " 1 The atmosphere within dance studios and schools is deliberately designed to ramp up naturally occurring insecurities in an effort to weed out aesthetically unpleasing dancers." They also stated " 2 The outward pressures and expectations a dancer is subjected to within a dance program or company. 3 Societal pressures that may or may not lead to an eating disorder in a dancer. Dancers Edge new site going live! Is more than just a name, we are more than just a dance clothing and accessory store, we are a part of the dancing community. Dance has been an integral part of my life. My daughter began dancing with Carol Miller in Taunton at the age of 5, through the years with Patti Eisenhauer in Franklin, to the present with our retail store, dance has been our central focus. We nurture a love for dance in a structured environment with highly trained, professional dance instructors. We provide a structured environment for all of our dance students and the lessons learned in the studio go far beyond technique.
