A group of 20 skiers and 2 waxers headed to Austria January 19, 2014 for the Masters World Cup of cross country skiing in the Pillerseetal area which is roughly north east of Kitzbuhl between Hochfelzen and Waidring.

This year, Memorial Day seemed like a perfect opportunity for a one-night camping trip in nearby Sierra Valley. We left town Saturday morning, planning to take advantage of the recent late spring rains by doing some paddling in the Feather River Channels. A pair of white pelicans sunbathed on the banks of the channels.
