Tomorrow I begin treatment again at my local Community Eating Disorder services after over a year fending for myself. This is not my first rodeo. In fact this will be my sixth attempt with services and I dare not count how many types of treatment. Like I said the treatment was good, I found it helped me a lot with perspective, interpersonal relationships and a lot.

The long winded road to recovery from an eating disorder. Remember that dress you used to wear? Leopard shift and it made you so pretty. Now it hangs alone, gathering dust. Never again will you wear it aged twenty. For an illness has stolen your world. An illness without a drug or a pill. It has stolen that smiling young girl. You look in your stained bedroom mirror. See a broken and unrepaired wreck. But you fake a smile with falsified pride.

I have had many strong months of recovery and days went by where I rarely gave a seconds thought to my eating disorder. However, during the last couple of weeks, I have found myself slowly letting the voice back in.
