April 15, 2013. On the Friday of Semana Santa. I visited Tañarandy, a community just outside of the town of San Ignacio, in Misiones, Paraguay. To explain a bit of the tradition, every year there is a candle-lit procession from the chapel to an open area and an artistic spectacle. After walking three kilometers holding candles, we saw a theatrical exhibition of tableaux vivants with dancing and dramatic lighting. But photos make a better description than words.
