I noticed that the web site stated " Many, many 4th graders I taught repeatedly told me, Tape diagrams dont help me." They also stated " Teachers wonder how much value they should assign to a childs ability to make a tape diagram that accurately represents the problem. If a kid can solve the problem but cant make a tape diagram that matches, what does that mean? Monday, December 19, 2011. What do you have in mind for 2012? In December 2010, I made my usual list of New Year goals. I had four goal categories and six goals per category for a total of twenty-four goals. Can you guess how many were actually accomplished? Just three. Other goals were addressed and some progress was made, but not nearly the grandiose picture of achievement imagined for myself. This year, I am taking a different approach.
I had an old blog back in the days of LiveJournal. Oh LiveJournal, you were like the original MySpace, but with more content and fewer sparkly Britney Spears icons. What is different is my ability to make the words flow.

Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Because I frequently use a water-based dye, I always use Titebond II for bonding veneer because it is water resistant and reduces delamination. Applying less glue may reduce bleed-through, but how much less before risking delamination? Between the veneer and the caul. This soaks up the glue to the veneer surface. When bleed-through is evident, light sanding is more successful because minimal glue .
