Geometry, getting our groove back. It was a fabulous break, two full weeks plus three weekends. The snow came on strong right before break started and continued right into the first week, until we had a couple feet of beautiful snowpack. Then the sun came out. Bliss! So now we are back at school and trying to get back into the swing. Geometry meets first thing, and everyone is tired.

Learning in a sixth grade classroom. I have a hard time blogging during the school year, but I love to spend the summer reflecting on the past school year and thinking about my goals for the coming year. It all came together for me. I love the flow chart, I love the google sheets, I just love! As the year came.

Things I have noticed now that Reptile Boy is at school. We are all more tired. He hardly ever draws anything any more. He does far more writing at school than we have been doing at home. He hardly does any science at school. There is loads of testing.

Figuring out what this teaching thing is all about. I am behind the times here, having just read the book How Children Succeed. I was struck by the emphasis on grit and perseverance.
