I see now that I have allowed this sense of failure and these doubts to rule for too long. I refuse to sink into some torpor of depression because I once again have chosen introspection over action. I am committing myself to change; I wish to leave the exhibitionistic concern over how others perceive me behind, to focus instead on regaining some semblance of satisfaction and control in my life.

We arrived in Quito last night after a chaotic experience in Cuenca. Evidently, the airlines overbook flights in Ecuador, and the first people in line are the people who get seats.

Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Arrived in Cuenca early this morning. It was a short flight, no more than 40 minutes or so, but the early wakeup time of 5 in the morning did bode well for me. Been having trouble staying asleep through the entire night. probably thinking about home too much. Perhaps tomorrow will be better. Monday, July 28, 2008. New Pics Posted on Picasa.
