캠프워커는 대구 남구에 위치한 미군기지이며 1920년대 일본군에 의해 건설되었다. 한국전쟁 당시에는 미국 공군이 K-37이란 이름으로 공군기지로 사용하였고, 휴전 이후 미국 육군이 인수하여 오늘에 이르고 있다. 이곳에는 항공기용 활주로가 있으나 1980년대 이후 사용되지 않고 있으며 현재는 헬기만 운용중이다. 대구시는 3차 순환도로 건설을 위해 이 활주로를 반환할 것을 주한미군에 요청했다. 현재 캠프워커는 반환이 확정된 상태이다. 과거 캠프워커로 인해 생긴 바운더리 벽과 프로그램적으로 단절된 부지를 소통과 연결이라는 주제로 프로젝트를 진행하려 한다.
