Reis door Madagascar

Ongeveer vijftienhonderd jaar geleden kwamen de eerste mensen naar Madagaskar. De voorouders van de meerderheid van de bevolking komt uit Indonesië, Malakka en Melanesië. Later kwamen immigranten uit Azië, Afrika en Arabië. De Vazimba waren de eerste immigranten van Madagaskar. Ze zijn helemaal verdwenen en opgenomen in latere immigrantengroepen. De graven van de Vazimba zijn tegenwoordig pelgrimsoorden waar mensen de goden om een gunst en genezing vragen.
