The light color in both blocks is from one piece of fabric. There were horizontal bands of stem and leaves and another band of blooms. I continue to knit dishcloths and finished 3 this month and started another. Monday, March 26, 2018.
Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Needing Direction - BEST IN SHOW - Dallas Area Fiber Artists Annual Show. Well, I have to say, I am still shocked. Last night at the Dallas Area Fiber Artists. Annual Show closing reception, Needing Direction. Was awarded Best in Show. There were so many beautiful and deserving pieces in the show. I know the decisions for all the awards and judging process must have been difficult.
The purpose of this blog is share with others the processes involved in my favorite form of creativity- silk art quilts. The creative process itself is a fascinating thing. In addition to using paint, the idea was to render the pumpkin without laboriously cutting fabric shapes to create the image. but how? It looks good but another time I may skip that step. With the mask removed, the emerging pumpki.

Sometimes life has a way of taking over, but I thought I would stop and share a few pics, lest you thought I dropped off the quilting world altogether. After getting home from the coast. a little painting was in order. After all, one never knows when one might need to support an ever-growing project. And since my design wall was simply too small for this ever-growing quilt, I expanded the design wall as well.
