Reuters is going to try to lay down some rules for social media. It does show that the media is seeing that social media is becoming part of most news organizations game plan. Also, by setting down some guidelines for the use of things like Twitter and Facebook Reuters and other news organizations allows for the use of social media in an organized fashion that should allow these sites to be used in the most effective manner possible.
