Emergent Reflections of a Secondary Teacher. I spent a great deal of time at the end of Term 2 focusing my thoughts on how Design Thinking applies to educational leadership. This is something that we have been doing at Hobsonville Point Secondary School, but a couple of presentations I did in Term 2 meant that I had to clarify my thoughts about what it really meant to lead with Design Thinking.

Friday, August 14, 2015. Teaching practice and Learning opportunities. I was fortunate enough to visit yet another school, leading the way around MLP. One thing that stood out was how students were able to talk about their learning. That was a good indicator that students own their learning. I could see that students enjoy sharing and collaborating with others. Students should evaluate their own learning to be able to tell if they are making progress.

Saturday, October 8, 2016. When I was young, I used to love reading pick a path stories. I think I read every possible combination of story over and over again, despite knowing all the possible outcomes. I feel like my current PD path is a little bit like this. I like to think I picked my path but did my path pick me? I feel an inexplicable draw towards learning as much as I can about Dyslexia and other learning difficulties.
