7th Grade Science - Blog

This week we are studying DNA and genetics. The students began by cracking a code from their text. They loved the activity and wanted to do more, so we decided that they should create their own code! Each student came up with their own secret code and then copied a paragraph from their text book, written in their secret code. Fellow classmates then used the key to decipher the code of their friends and provide the text reference as proof of their success. Region IX, our educational cooperative in Ruidoso.

11th Grade Chemistry - Blog

The chemical reaction actually dehydrates the sugar molecules and releases a lot of heat in the process. This demonstration helped students understand more about how exothermic reactions work.

8th Grade Science - Blog

The boys got together and made a cup pyramid using teamwork. The goal was to build a pyramid from red Solo cups using only a piece of string and a rubberband. On Monday, we made models of the inner planets.
