Sunday, March 18, 2018. Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge near Titusville, Florida. Have seen many American Bitterns over my birding career, but seldom have I seen them out in the open like this bird I found along the Black Point Wildlife Drive in Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. Most bitterns I see are hidden or partially hidden within the reed beds.

The site had the following in the homepage, "June 14, 2015 A fantastic time watching and photographing a pair of Yellow Warblers at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, Long Island, NY." I noticed that the web site stated " These birds are summer visitors to the area and breed here." They also stated " Banded Tree at Levy Preserve, Merrick, Long Island, NY; May 3, 2015. Saturday, October 11, 2014. Rest in Peace, Stephen Frank. Early Falconry Art in Portugal. I also saw a falconry-related ceramic bowl in a small museum of Islamic art in Mertola, Portugal. It depicts a raptor grabbing the head of a gazelle as a dog attacks its body. Arab falconers used to train Saker falcons to chase gazelles, striking them repeatedly in the head, slowing them enough so their salukis could catch them. This piece is probably at least 1,000 years old.

Monday, November 8, 2010. Blake was Super Dude, whom he created. Malynda was a hippy flower girl, and Ella was Mariposa, Barbie movie. I was a motorcycle momma and Keith was the candy stealer. I was able to take Malynda with us to the Boston Temple trip with the Young Men and Young Women. We went with a neighboring branch. The girls were a little bit tired afterwards.
