The origins of caste system in India go back to ancient times, when Aryans started to spread toward east and west from Middle Asia that is said to date back to 3000 B. They expanded toward south-east and came to India through Afghanistan, Tibet, Bilochistan, etc. Were considered as property and included in the category of animals in this period. The present caste system is the product of long history of evolution from the Vedic Varna Vyavas.
