Thoughts and musings on the sports world. To be a goaltender in the National Hockey League is tough. One must have not only the physical abilities, quickness, lateral movement, reflexes, conditioning to withstand playing upwards of 70-games a season, but also the mental capacity to withstand playing the only position in hockey that is individual.

I first entered journalism school intent on becoming a writer. Then I took my first photography class. As journalism solidifies its place more and more online, it will be pictures, motion or still, that allow us to more closely identify with the individual whose story is being told. If a picture is worth a thousand words, I plan on filling a library.
