No longer seeing the world through vodka colored glasses. Sobriety has me struggling at the moment. Funny how you can be sailing along on calm waters and suddenly you find yourself in the middle of a storm. Everything in my life is in order. I have two healthy smart daughters, food on the table, bills paid and only my mortgage as debt.

Wallowing in my own self pity. I am getting poorer though. That is a huge motivator though. I truly cannot afford to drink. But do I anyway? Yeah, silly question. Thanks for hanging with me through all this. Anyone still out there? .

Setting Sober Goals for 2015. Way down here in the Southern Hemisphere the seasonal holiday is a long one, incorporating our Summer and lots of 5 o clock drinkies and BBQ drinkies and elevensies and on and on it goes. That would be the usual pattern at this time of year, but remarkably I am not feeling deprived of a drink. I am in fact finding this holiday easier to navigate than I was expecting. With 90 days they have stopped asking.

Not drinking has become a lot easier and I have to look up the number of days a lot lately. I take that as a good sign. My biggest trap seems to be when I feel good and want to celebrate.
