My Dipping Float

Wednesday, 4 January 2017. After a few cold blank trips in sub-zero conditions I finally managed a nice fish. Taken laying on after long trotting with maggots for two hours, I finally switched to bread fished in the margins. The water was coloured after recent rain, and very cold still. Biggest chub for two years at 5lb 10oz. Cold misty low light conditions, ideal fishing weather. But cold on the old feet! .
