The Roumanian-born mezzo-soprano Hermine May, has won many international Opera competitions and started her career at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, immediately after completing her studies at the University of Music in Stuttgart. In the years that followed she developed an international career as a dramatic mezzo-soprano with engagements as Carmen, Amneris, Brangäne, Venus, Dalila, Azucena etc. Sie sang among others Carmen. She gave her debut at the Scala di Milano.
