That class is over and it launched me into writing heaven! This summer I participated in the Lake Michigan Writing Project and now I am currently involved in a teacher research class with Lindsay Ellis at the helm. Life is glorious! October 1, 2010. After each book in the Lucy Calkins series of study some pieces are chosen for their portfolio and the rest are sent home. The student who loves science can find an abundance of poems about creepy crawly creatures, and the student who is in love with love can find an endless amount of poems about romance. I feel like grading poetry is e.
