My Journey as a Traditional Surrogate. Well sad news first thing this morning. My clinic has decided that they are not comfortable doing the IUI for traditional surrogacy. They are more than happy to do all of my prenatal care though once I conceive. I really do understand their POV though. Even with the lawyers and contract they want to protect themselves and that is totally their choice.

My journey as a gestational surrogate. 7 week 2 day Ultrasound. Update- My doctor called just now to say she is hopeful that everything will be ok. After dropping to 6000 last week, my hcg is back up to 15000 this week. Can we find a heartbeat? I was so nervous all morning. After a severe bleed this weekend, I was so worried about our ultrasound today. I Facetimed my intended mother so she could be at the appointment with me.

Let Me Carry That For You. The good news was my progesterone levels looked exactly as they should, the bad news was the pregnancy test was negative. The IPs have to find a new egg donor due to the high amount of abnormalities in the embryos from this cycle. The doctor has requested finding a donor who has donated previously and the outcome was a successful pregnancy and healthy baby. Those donors are in short supply.

After a little over a year, the time to tell the birth story of Charlotte Sophia has come. What a beautiful roller coaster it has been. I thought for sure she would come on her own, but an induction was needed, due to the increased amniotic fluid. The last weeks of pregnancy of the most difficult for me. When Im done Im done and the waiting is tortuous! October Ha.
