And will consist of a practice-based work which will be displayed in school on completion. On Friday you will be introduced to the theme and the rest of the day will consist of idea development.

The nude body and the context. Actually, being naked in public was a pretty common thing. The Romans, men and women, are known for public bathing. In the Ancient Greece it was common to practice sports without clothes. Some of the sense of modesty that we see today spread in modern society was essentially a legacy that religions have left us over the ages.

8220;What do these conventions mean? What does a nude signify? It is not sufficient to answer these questions merely in terms of the art-form, for it is quite near that the nude also relates to lived sexuality. To be naked is to be oneself. To be nude is to be seen naked by others and yet not recognized for oneself. A naked body has to be seen as an object in order to become a nude.
