High Wind Warning Cancelled 10 AM. Friday, January 16, 2009 - Leave a Response. As of 10 AM, the National Weather Service dropped the High Wind Warning from Niihau to Maui County as the potential of damaging wind gusts has dropped off. Therefore, a High Wind Advisory is now in effect for the entire Maui county area throughout the afternoon into the evening hours. The High Wind Warning for the summits is still in effect.
