This week in class we had to start actually working on our final project! We learned how to screencast, which we are going to utilize in our video. Also, iMovie is a HUGE tool that we have used and will continue to use. I edited the footage that we already recorded using iMovie.

However, not always does the anonymity stay that way which makes me wonder how safe are these online sites and how open and honest can people be if there is a chance of their person identity being revealed. These memes are, in my opinion, a creation of the users and as a result are not a product of the corporations. Users create, spread, and find interest in these images and while perhaps the initial product is something produced by corporations it does not mean the memes themselves are their product as well. If anything, it is produced by fans and is commenting on the show. I believe my group will not choose to use memes for such a serious topic as dating abuse. We do not want our audience to laugh at dating abuse. We want our victims to laugh when they have gotten out of their abusive relationships. Perhaps a meme depicting and making fun of a male abuser would be effective.
