Taking the time to fix bad running behaviours. The summer heat is upon us once again and our air conditioning chose this weekend to pack in. Today I opted to do a long bike ride with some friends rather than run. 63 miles with a few quite tough hills. It was also very warm ending at about 95F. Phew! The heat did become quite repressive towards the end of the ride. After being out in it for six hours I was done.

After a short break of 23 years I have registered to run the Melbourne Marathon. An attempt at speed work. I am finding the temperature a little hard to handle but it is certainly easier running in the cold than in humidity which really knocks me about. Today was cold but the rain stopped when I went out so nothing to complain about. I ran 4 times at a pace faster than my usual plod. First I ran about 1500m fairly slowly until I came to a muddy grassy path next to a creek.
