For as long as we can remember dogs have been mans best friend, so it makes sense that one day these fun, loveable and loyal canines would become a vital and supporting role for people with disabilities. Guide Dogs was founded in 1931 by Murial Crooke and Rosamond Bond. These women organised the training of the first 4 Guide dogs in Merseyside, Liverpool UK. Becoming a Guide Dog is extensive and very specific.

Im Visually impaired not your idea of crippled. November 25, 2016. Having a visual impairment can be difficult. There are the obvious issues around physically not being able to navigate your surroundings as well as those with full sight, not being able to read menues or timetalbes without assisstance, not being able to recognise people from a distance etc. In my own mind, what I see when Im generally walking around is what everyone must see.
