A New Home Among the Hills. From the Mountains of West Virginia to the Seashore of Porto. For the next five weeks, I will be living in Porto, Portugal through a study abroad program with West Virginia University. This blog is dedicated to the course work I am completing and the overall experience of my first time abroad. I am excited to see what this experience will bring and what memories I take away.
In order to write about life, first you must live it. Never before have I traveled for the sole purpose of learning about and embracing a culture, to see the world clearly. Portugal is different for me in this way. Sure, I am receiving credit from WVU in the process, but my end goal is not to walk away with six credit hours, but to have gained a meaningful understanding of another part of the world.
