Surprising High Jump Lessons at the Track Meet. I high jumped for about nine years, from age 10 to age 19. I was never all that great at it, but I loved the sport and I learned a lot. What I am not having is a great time dealing with the people running the meets. The next meet was an invitational, an all-day affair.

For me swimming is not a planned activity. Furthermore, since I never expect to swim I never have a swim suit with me. I have ruined countless idyllic beach photos with gym shorts and a sports bra. Anyway, I decided this Saturday was the perfect day to do a huge Thanksgiving style cookout. It was bad weather for traveling and I had the time.

Thursday, May 3 2012. Oh holy crap look at this adorable time capsule! Man, what a chronicle of my twenties. I feel I must explain. We got married last weekend. 2011 sucked less, but only because I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was in love and small things in the rest of my life were slowly improving.

The Irish Word from France! The trip affected us all differently, but I will say that most of the driving we did that day was done in solemn silence. My only regret about our trip to Normandy, was that we only had one day. I could have easily spent another week or two visiting museums and historical sights. It was late so I quietly moved up the spiral staircase to the second floor.
